Where does the retreat take place?

Our pickleball retreats take place at a private jungle resort in Uvita, Costa Rica. The location is surrounded by lush rainforest and is a short drive from some of the country's most beautiful beaches.

How do I get to the retreat location?

Shuttle transportation is provided from the Fairfield by Marriott San Jose Airport Alajuela at 9:00 AM on the first day and returns on the final afternoon. We recommend arriving the day before and departing the day after. Guests must get themselves to the pickup hotel.

What’s included in the retreat price?

Most retreats include accommodations, breakfast and lunch daily, select dinners, round-trip shuttle transportation, group excursions, coaching and clinics, and unlimited gameplay on covered courts.

Can I bring a non-playing guest?

Yes, non-playing guests are welcome at a reduced rate. They enjoy all meals, excursions, and resort amenities — minus the pickleball programming.

How many people will be at the retreat?

Most retreats host between 12–24 guests, ensuring a personalized and community-focused experience with tailored coaching.

What level of pickleball players is the retreat for?

All levels are welcome. Coaching is tailored to your skill level. Retreats often focus on a DUPR range (e.g., 2.5–3.5 or 3.5–4.5), and players are grouped accordingly.

What should I pack for the retreat?

Bring lightweight activewear, court shoes, a paddle, swimsuit, sunscreen, bug spray, a hat, a rain jacket, refillable water bottle, and any personal medications.

What is the refund or cancellation policy?

A $300 USD non-refundable deposit is required. The remaining balance is due 60 days prior. Within 60 days, no refunds are given unless the retreat is canceled or a natural disaster occurs.

Do I need travel or health insurance for the retreat?

Yes, we strongly recommend travel and health insurance for coverage during your trip. All guests must sign a waiver and are advised to carry their own insurance.

What are the courts like?

There are four covered, lit pickleball courts with high-quality nets, dividers, and an air-conditioned lounge for breaks and video analysis.

Are there good restaurants and bars in Uvita?

Yes! Uvita offers a great dining scene with local sodas, seafood spots, smoothie bars, Italian restaurants, and craft breweries.

Yes. Popular activities include whale watching, snorkeling, surfing, waterfalls, mangrove tours, zip-lining, ATV rides, and chocolate and coffee farm tours.

We offer customizable retreats for groups including your choice of player level, retreat length, excursions, meal plans, coaching, wellness classes, and more.

What additional fees or costs are added to the retreat price?

The retreat price is subject to a 13% VAT and a 2.5% card processing fee. Canadian guests can pay by e-transfer with no fee. Pricing is available in both USD and CAD.

Is there a waiver to be signed?

Yes, all guests must sign a waiver before participating in the retreat. It includes acknowledgment of activity risks and a recommendation for travel and health insurance.
